For couples who feel most like themselves outdoors, these national park sessions are about embracing the experience as much as the photographs themselves. A little hiking, changing weather, and wind are all part of what makes these locations so unforgettable. The reward is breathtaking scenery, quiet moments away from distractions, and memories to last a lifetime.  Below are a few of my favorite adventure and national park photo sessions.

National Park Sessions

Glacier National Park
Montana session

This portrait session in Glacier National Park took place the day after the couple’s wedding just outside the park, allowing us to slow down and fully experience the landscape without the pace of a wedding timeline. A few days beforehand, I drove the route along Going-to-the-Sun Road to scout locations, study how the light moved through each area, and plan the timing between stops. The preparation paid off perfectly, giving us the freedom to move through the park intentionally and photograph each location in its best light. We ended the evening circling back to Big Bend for dusk portraits before making our way out of the park, closing the session with some of my favorite images from the entire trip.

This wedding portrait session at Taggart Lake was proof that even a short adventure can be incredibly worthwhile. After a moderate hike into the lake, the couple changed once we arrived, surrounded by the dramatic landscape and quiet stillness of the Tetons. Although our schedule only allowed for a brief session, the combination of the mountain views, alpine lake, and peaceful atmosphere made every minute count,
